Please note that free swimming will be available at our programmed public swimming sessions. Please check with each swimming pool for their specific programmes.Swimming is Fun, it's a great way to exercise and its excellent value.

Main Pool

The main pool at Albany Leisure Centre is a 25 metre, 6 lane competition pool for the whole family to enjoy. Spectators can view from the pool side and access to this area is available for the disabled. All the usual changing facilities including lockers, showers and hairdriers are available. Qualified lifeguards are on duty during all public swimming times. 

Teaching Pool
 
This spacious pool has an original octagonal shape and provides an excellent pool for learning to swim. The warm water and friendly atmosphere makes it the ideal environment for the toddlers. 

Swimming Pool Admissions Policy

Main Pool

• Children under 5 years must be accompanied on a one-to-one basis, regardless of their swimming ability, by a responsible adult (minimum age of 16 years) at ALL times.
• One adult may accompany up to two children between the ages of 5-7 years.
• Non swimmers must remain in shallow water.

Teaching Pool

• Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult (minimum age of 16 years) at ALL times.
• One adult may be accompany up to 4 children between the ages of 5-7 years.
• One adult may accompany to to 2 children under the age of 5 years.

Poolside Steam & Sauna

Treat yourself to a Steam and/or Sauna as well as a swim! This special combined ticket entitles you to sit back after an invigorating swim (or a work-out*) and let the sauna and/or steam room work its magic! Children 8-15yrs must be accompanied by an adult. *Full details of the options available are on the  "Swimming Prices & Information" leaflet available in reception and in the prices page on this website.
